Honor the dream and memory of your departed loved one aboard the Tranquility memorial spaceflight. This Luna service includes:
The second Celestis Luna Memorial Spaceflight – the Tranquility Flight – will fly on Astrobotic’s Peregrine Mission One, the first American spacecraft to land on the Moon since Apollo. The Tranquility Flight, along with the Celestis Enterprise Flight into deep space, will be launched aboard a United Launch Alliance Vulcan Centaur rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The Tranquility Flight will land in the northeastern part of the Moon. The Celestis memorial capsules carrying cremated remains and DNA will remain on the lunar surface as a permanent tribute to the intrepid souls who never stopped reaching for the stars. Learn more about the mission.
Vulcan Centaur’s maiden flight will showcase its tremendous performance as it enters service with a high-energy interplanetary mission. Vulcan will first put Astrobotic’s Peregrine lunar lander on a trajectory for its rendezvous with the Moon. The Centaur upper stage will then continue on to deep space, entering a stable orbit around the sun, with Celestis’ Enterprise Memorial Spaceflight Payload.
Participate in a real mission to the Moon!
Friends and family will have several opportunities to celebrate and interact with the Tranquility mission throughout the pre-flight, flight, landing, and operations phases. Like previous missions, the Tranquility Flight - Celestis’ second Luna mission - is expected to sell out well in advance.
Astrobotic - which in 2019 was selected by NASA for a $79.5 million contract to deliver payloads to the Moon - will conduct the Tranquility Flight.

ABOARD THE TRANQUILITY FLIGHT
The Tranquility mission logo continues the recurring Celestis theme of astronaut wings enveloping planet Earth as the Celestis payload – symbolized by the star rising in a plume of smoke – leaves the planet on its mission of purpose. The lunar surface beckons at the top of the design, inviting the spacecraft’s precious cargo – the Tranquility participants – to their final resting place. The numeric symbol “2” is prominently displayed, proclaiming the second time a Celestis spacecraft has reached the Moon, and establishing for all eternity the truly historic nature of this flight.
Every Celestis mission has its own logo and mission patch, following the tradition of creating a unique identity for each launch dating to the earliest days of the American space program. The Tranquility mission logo is from well-known designer and illustrator Eric Gignac. Eric’s portfolio also includes co-design of NASA Space Shuttle mission patches for the STS 128 and 133 missions.
