Edward B. Grubb, V (Ned) of Palm Harbor/Tampa, Florida passed away on February 15, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Upon graduating Largo High School in 1965, Ned joined the Air Force where he was stationed in Panama and began his career as an air traffic controller. He went on to a rewarding career with the FAA at Tampa ATC (enjoying additional tours in both St. Thomas and Alaska).
He never met a stranger and celebrated life with an enviable list of adventures and accomplishments. He earned his pilot’s license, jumped out of an airplane, was an accomplished boater, flew in an F-16, motorcycled across the country, sailed to Cuba for humanitarian aid, and was a member of the Society of Cincinnati.
Ned had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a member of the Patriot Guard and a 20-year volunteer with Sun N Fun in Lakeland (Airside Ground Safety).
He loved nature, the beach, boating, astronomy and watching the launches, motorcycling in the N. Georgia Mountains, feeding the birds, and a good rum drink!
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Nancy Grubb of Ft. Myers, Florida. He is survived by his wife and forever love, Pamela Wynne-Grubb of Tampa, Florida; step daughter, Venessa Collins of Alpharetta, Georgia; brothers, Robert Grubb (Jenny) of Naples, Florida and David Grubb (Kathleen) of Lebanon, Pennsylvania; and his nieces, Whitney and Sarah and their families.
