Harvey Alfred Miller

1928 - 2020

Harvey Alfred “Al” Miller PhD, age 91, passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2020. He was born October19, 1928 to Harry and Carmen Miller in Sturges, Michigan. He was a graduate of Stanford University with a PhD in philosophy with an emphasis in biology. He was a member of the board of trustees for the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation and fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and Linnean Society of London. He was a member of the Explorers club and recently received a lifetime achievement award of education from Who’s Who. He has over one hundred published scientific papers and three books covering South Pacific Flora. Al was a very talented, brilliant man who was loved and adored by all.

Preceded in death by his parents Harry and Carmen Miller, sister Ann, and two brothers Jim and Jack. He is survived by his wife Donna Miller, daughter Valerie, son Harry, step sons Tim and Jasper, step daughter Tanya, and brother Dewey.
