Jack William Klopfenstein, 69, of Monument, CO, passed away on August 14, 2023, surrounded by the presence and love of his children. He was born on September 12, 1953, in Elkhart, IN. Jack was 18 months old when his family moved to Colorado Springs, where he grew up. Jack was a hardworking and loyal individual who was known for his kind spirit, hard work, great smile and his stubbornness. He was very much a devoted family man to his wife, kids, brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his three children: Alena Aaron, Eric (Jennifer), and Toni (Brennen), his beloved siblings Jim (Marilyn), Ron (Verna), Sharon Mullett (Art), Linda Francis, and Roger (Patty), his grandchildren: Kyle Aaron (Cassie), Nalani, Ja'el, Julia, and his great-granddaughter: Maya Aaron. Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Dara, his father Wayne, his mother Miriam, and his brother Doug.
Having only three jobs his entire life, Jack was known for his work ethic. He grew up working in the family restaurants, spent 25 years at Current Inc, and then 15 years at the Air Academy School District. One of his most proud professional accomplishments was when he received his electrical license in 1985.
When he was not working, Jack kept busy with a variety of hobbies. He enjoyed cooking, golfing, listening to music (Classic Rock and the Blues), going to concerts, camping, hunting, spending quality time with his family, seeing new places and passionately cheering on the Broncos with a Budweiser in his hand. Jack's ability to work with his hands brought him immense satisfaction and joy.
Family and friends will be gathering in remembrance at the house Jack built and lived in since 1986. It will serve as a heartfelt opportunity for all to share fond memories and celebrate a life well-lived.
To honor his memory, in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Donations can be submitted online at https://www.preventcancer.org/donate/tribute/.
