Joshua James Jensen, age 23, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Josh had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and bravely endured many challenges throughout his life, but he was not defined by his diagnosis. He was a brilliant and witty young man: a true conversationalist, critical thinker, and loving individual. His brash sense of humor always caught you off guard and kept you in anticipation of what he would say next.
In his blessed life, Josh was able to go on a “Make -A- Wish” trip to see the premiere of the movie “Transformers” in Los Angeles and had fifteen minutes of fame as an extra in the movie “Extraordinary Measures” with Harrison Ford and Brendan Fraser. He loved politics, video games, movies, current events, all kinds of animals, watching YouTube videos, and most of all, he loved having long discussions about everything from black holes to superheroes. His inquisitive and creative mind allowed him to go all the places his body couldn’t. He thought about space often. The universe, to him, was a place of mystery and infinite possibilities.
He is survived by his father and mother, Jerry and Heather Jensen, and brother, Luke of Vancouver, Washington, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, friends and caregivers. All his loved ones raised money so that they could send Josh to space. Fly high and above sweet Joshua James!
