Up to and through the end, Mike did it his way.
Michael J. Williams died suddenly of natural causes in his Roseville home on December 3rd, 2022 at the age of 67. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 7th, 1955, Michael and his family soon moved to Placer county, California. He spent much of his childhood exploring all matters of nature, a passion which endured throughout his life.
Even prior to his graduation from Oakmont High School, Mike forged a lifelong career working with Recreational Vehicles. He was an extremely successful business owner thanks to his skilled hands and sharp mind.
Michael viewed life as a great adventure, one he lived to the absolute fullest. He traveled the world in pursuit of his many passions and talents, a complete list of which could fill a library. Mike was fascinated with history and was an avid collector of diverse artifacts and antiques, never returning from a trip empty handed. The adventure did not end when he arrived home however, as he cultivated a multitude of passions with great proficiency. Mike was a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a position he used to mentor countless learners of the martial art. He also was an award-winning pigeon breeder and a talented builder, both of which allowed him to exercise his ample creativity.
Toward the end of his life, Michael discovered a new and enduring passion: authorship. He penned and published a handful of books in a multitude of genres including fantasy, adventure, and historical fiction. His writings reflect him perfectly; from the charming realism of the prose to the vivid natural landscapes, Mike is present on every page. Above all else, this was his ultimate wish. Though he is gone, his words and wisdom will stand the test of time. The absolute greatest joy in Michael’s life was his family. He looked forward to every gathering with great excitement, whether big or small. To Mike, time with family was always time well spent.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Joseph H. Williams. He is survived by so many: his mother Mary Lopez Alvarez (Antonio), his siblings Rachel Harp (Joel) and Nathan Williams (Kerry). He was a loving uncle to Nicholas Harp (Shannon), Robyn Harp, and Brian Williams- with whom he shared a special bond. Michael is also survived by his three children Jennifer De Dora (Paul), Amy Duran( Brian), and Amal Williams, in addition to six grandchildren: Jason D. De Dora, Alora Hickert (Ivan), Travis Duran, Lucas De Dora, Benjamin Duran, and Owen Duran. Mikey also left behind his lifelong friend Timmy Stewart (Randi), whom he loved as family.
