Robert E. “Rob” Gibson, Jr., age 57, of Bear, Delaware, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 10, 1963, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Dorothy Ann (Whay) Gibson. Rob was a self-described computer geek and history buff who collected coins, baseball cards, and trains. He enjoyed walking, biking, and striving to have the greenest lawn in his neighborhood. Rob bonded with his grandkids through his love of Lego building, model rocketry and space exploration. He cherished every moment spent with his family.
An avid Star Wars and Star Trek fan, we know that this spaceflight would bring a huge smile to his face!
Rob is survived by his children, Jennifer McClafferty (Michael) of Hagerstown, Maryland and Katie Shaw (Jacob) of Martinsburg, West Virginia; grandchildren, Emlyn Shaw, Dustin Shaw, and Spencer McClafferty; and sister, Karen Marsh (Steven) of Woodbine, Maryland.
