WARNING: THE OBITUARY YOU’RE ABOUT TO READ MAY OR MAY NOT BE TRUE.
After being kidnapped by aliens in Area 51 as a child, and after his untimely demise, Steve’s family is sending him on a brief vacation back to space. While the rest of the world wept during Steve’s childhood space journey, upon his return, he didn’t get a “Welcome Home” party. Instead, his mother drop-kicked him back into reality by ordering him to clean his room and mow the lawn. He wisely did just that. In the following years, Steve carried cheerful memories of his space voyage and remained passionate about all things related to science fiction. He watched every TV episode, documentary, and movie about “Star Trek” and “Star Wars.” In a closely guarded secret finally revealed by his family, Steve was a successful TV writer for years. He wrote every episode of “The Big Bang Theory,” “The Mandalorian,” and “The Orville.”
While you may or may not believe any of that was true, it’s 100% obvious that Steve had an incredible sense of humor. Steve loved God, his family, and his friends more than anything else, but his love of space claimed at least third place. His passion was stoked after watching a space shuttle launch in person when he was ten years old. One of his happiest moments as a father was taking his son to visit NASA. Flying into space was a dream of his, and he would be thrilled that it’s happening. If he did give a farewell speech on the launch pad, he would mimic Spock, flash the Vulcan salute, and say, “Live long and prosper.”
