How is my DNA handled and stored?

Your DNA sample is mailed to Genetic Health for processing to create samples suitable for spaceflight and for long-term home banking.

DNA intended for flight aboard a Celestis Memorial Spaceflight mission is delivered to Celestis via a certified carrier from Genetic Health.  Upon receipt, Celestis logs in the sample and informs the Primary Contact listed in the Celestis contract of receipt. The sample is then stored in a private safe deposit box maintained at a commercial bank until the sample is transferred to a Celestis Flight Capsule.

The DNA processed as part of the included home banking kit is returned to the family, making it a home based private genetic record. Genetic Health publishes and adheres to strict handling and data maintenance guidelines.
